If you think that home gyms are a luxury reserved only for the rich and famous -- think again! With all the wonderful training tools available in the market today, virtually everyone can afford to put together a home gym -- without breaking the bank.
In order to help you navigate the "what do I buy" and "what should I do" mine field, I've partnered with Perform Better to put together this list of suggested equipment.
Moreover, to take the guesswork out of what to do with the equipment it once you have it, I've created my Fast & Effective Workout Series. Each of the three levels consists of an upper body, lower body and core sections (2 move in each, for a total of six moves per level). These exercises are designed to be fast and effective, so you get the maximal benefit in the minimal amount of time.

In my opinion, everyone should have a stability ball. They are a wonderful training tool that can help you tone your entire body. These balls will challenge your core, sculpt arms and firm thighs. Inexpensive, versatile and just plain fun to use!!! |

Okay, so I'm "ol skool", what can I say?! But, I love the classic step, especially for inexpensive home gym use. Where else can you get a cardio piece with virtually unlimited possibilities, a free weight bench and a tool for toning the butt and thighs that can't be beat -- all for under $100? I've had mine for over 10 years (they are pretty much indestructible) and I still use it almost every day for one thing or another!
Unbeatable bang for the fitness buck! |

Airex Mats
It just kills me when I see folks lying on a hard surface or a cheap mat. A great mat doesn't even cost a lot and makes floor work of all types (stretching, core) much more comfortable. These mats are thin, yet well-padded, they wipe clean easily and don't get smelly
